After so much sunshine, there’s some rain about today. It will be partly cloudy with isolated showers.

A gunman is on the run in Sydney this morning after a fatal drive-by shooting in south-east Sydney.

A black sedan was seen speeding away from the back of a unit block on George Street, Eastlakes, around 10pm.

A 37 year-old man was shot dead and a 25 year-old man is in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.

They were standing with a group of men at the rear of the unit block.

Police believe it was a targeted attack.

Residents of West Ryde, Putney and Meadowbank have woken to no running water this morning after a major fault interrupted supply from 10.30pm last night.

”It’s been one catastrophe after another,” a Sydney Water employee told the Herald.

Service were meant to resume at 1am but at 5am, Sydney Water said it would be ”several hours” before water was restored.

Egypt is in turmoil this morning after the army shot dead 51 people at a sit-in by Muslim Brotherhood supporters who were demanding the re-instatement of ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
